Turtle Threat

April 3, 2019
Donna Moot, from Turtle Rescue, looks after injured and unwanted turtles. She's tired of turtles being dumped and is calling for a ban on turtle breeding in New Zealand; in particular the red eared-slider turtle. Donna says turtles have become a pest pet but are still being sold via trade me. Yes they're cute, yes they're popular and have a ninja like status, but there's a big but when it comes to owning turtles! Turtles are a pet for life - depending on the breed they can live until 70 years old or more.
