Lyttelton Primary Opens
March 31, 2019
Lyttelton Primary School throws open its classrooms for parents, children and the local community. A new building and new approach to education with modern learning techniques in a modern learning environment. After years of disruption following the earthquakes followed by the merger of Lyttelton Main and Lyttelton West schools, local pupils have a new school and theatre and an exciting future.

For generations, the ancestral rock art of the Arowhenua people has been owned by others, with the land and limestone caves held in private ownership as part of a Gould family farm. Now after more than 170 years, Te Rūnanga o Arowhenua has purchased back the land and full access and ownership of their ancient taonga.
