Do It Yourself
Being part of the storytelling process is incredibly rewarding and with digital technology it isn't that hard to record the interviews and edit your own vision to create a family documentary yourself. Yes you'll need a video camera, a computer, software and possibly a scanner, but for those who have a passion to do it the price is affordable.
Kyle Cassidy has just wrriten an excellent article published in Videomaker offering some useful tips for those wanting to interview their parents or members of the family.
Interviewing Your Parents
Imagine talking to your ancestors - the ones who "crossed the water", "traversed a continent", "built a dynasty" to get you where you are today. What would you ask them?
Digital storytelling puts the power of storytelling back where it belongs, with you. At Telling Lives we support this approach where ever possible and are happy to help guide you through the process.
