Earthquake angst

My first post - post the earthquake. Frankly up until now I haven't felt there was anything more important than living the moment.

The focus has seemed almost primal at times 'fight or flight' primed to respond and make urgent decisions, ready to combat and confront.

For the first time in weeks I feel ready to relax perhaps it's the slow acceptance that 'abnormal is now the new normal' or the realisation that confrontation seems to have become my default mode since the quake and that helps no one.

A quote from the celebrant Association website this week a timely reminder that there is strength in compromise. Winning isn't always what counts... here's to progress then.

Coming together is a beginning. Keeping together is progress. Working together is success.” - Henry Ford
